Congratulations!
Fina Vista Farm would like to thank their customers and wish them many happy trails with their Paso Finos!
We will always welcome your feedback, recent pictures and updates on shared adventures.
Pictured below are some pasos from our farm with their new families.
in kinda alphabetical order...
If there are such things as matches made in heaven.... I think this is one of them. Every time I see Lynda S. of Scotland, and the lovely princess Alondra, I smile. So lucky to have found each other, such a lovely duo of wonderful ladies. :)
Some time ago, Lynda told me, "not a day goes by that I am not grateful for you matching me up with my dream horse". smile. CaptivaIn 2003, the lovely mare, Captiva, went to live with Marijean Harris of Forest Gait Farm, Fergus, ON.
where she has given them many beautiful foals and rides.
One of Captiva's foals at Forest Gait FarmCaptiva with her filly, Catalina de ForestGait (Mercenario deLa Libertad x Captiva de Raphael)
ChavezChavez was the only foal we had here from the lovely Elegancia. He found his person in longtime horse-lover but first time paso owner, Rick H., of Auburn, ON.
DanteDante, a stunning buckskin Capuchino son, is one of the most beautiful horses we ever had on the farm and was a big favourite to ride. He now gives Europeans the treat of the Paso Fino ride in his new home at a trail riding ranch with owner, Wendy J., in Spain.
DiamanteIn 2003, the lovely mare, Diamante, went to live with Marijean Harris of Forest Gait Farm, Fergus, ON. where she has given her a beautiful colt by our own Mercenario deLa Libertad. Dia was a very popular riding horse at Forest Gait Farm and eventually went to live on the West Coast with her present owner, Sara W.
One of Diamante's foals at Forest Gait FarmDiamante with her colt, Monolito de ForestGait (Mercenario deLa Libertad x Diamante)
DiegoThe Ellisons, of West Lorne took home 3 lovely pasos years ago, and started their own Paso Fino farm in West Lorne, ON. Diego was Reba's first foal, and was born at Fina Vista. A handsome boy!
EleganciaElegancia is a very pretty chestnut daughter of the 7-time PFHA Grand National conformation champion, El Chino de El Batey. "Ella" had her biggest "click" with Mary Jane M. of Fergus, ON, who leased her for some time on the farm and then purchased her in 2006. Mary Jane and Ella have become great ambassadors for the Paso Fino breed... I often hear something along the lines of... "I met a lady with a beautiful Paso Fino horse... she even let me ride it and it was wonderful... do you know Mary Jane?"
Congratulations Ella and MJ! El Mango de FinaVistaOne of our hardest ones to say good-bye to (and for which Nate still chastises me).
Mango is a beautiful example of the Paso Fino, by Geretsky de Santiallana out of Finola de Herencia. The always gorgeous "Mango", as we called him, is owned and very loved by Ovidio H., in Schomberg, ON. He now has a new name, El Imponente de FinaVista. FantasmaFantasma de FinaVista is one of the prettiest fillies we have ever had grace our pastures. "Fanny" has a lovely, sweet temperament, lots of flash and style and a natural gait. She made her new home south of the border. Congratulations to her very happy owner, Lynne G., of Buffalo, NY.
FieraFiera went to live with Cindy C. in Ontario who plans to make beautiful babies that benefit from Fiera's terrific bloodlines.
Finola de HerenciaWithout a doubt, the most beautiful horse we ever owned here at Fina Vista. In 2011, we made the decision to take a sabbatical from breeding, and offered up Finola for sale to someone that would ride her and appreciate her. We are thrilled that Bob M., of Kingston, ON is doing just that! Many happy trails to Bob and Finola... we will miss her.
JewelJewel was what she was called here, but when she went to her new farm, Silla Roca, in Carrying Place, ON, she was re-named "Preciosa de Silla Roca". SHe was the first foal born to Senora del Noche (or "edie" as we called her). Hopefully Ruthann and Robert will send us a picture of her all grown up... and fully grayed.
Leon de CabalIn 2002, we realized that this 1982 son of Hilachas, "Leon", was just not getting ridden enough with all the young training projects around. Hating to see a good horse go to waste, we looked for someone to loan him to; someone that could handle his boundless brio and energy. Along came Bob Darling of Welland, ON, and it was an instant click. Bob eventually became the proud owner of Leon, and they shared hundreds of happy hours on the trails together. When Leon died unexpectedly years later, Bob was very relieved to have recently brought home Orlando de FinaVista to help fill that sad void. RIP noble Leon de Cabal.
Libelula de FinaVistaLibelula de FinaVista is a stunning near-black mare by our own Mercenario and out of Canadian Dama de Noche. "Lula" has a fabulous quick and snappy natural gait, lovely conformation, a people-loving attitude and loves to go to work. Just like dad, Lula loves to hit the trails and bravely goes anywhere for you. Always the first to greet you at the gate,Lula knows how to make herself popular. We are very proud of this beautiful young mare and we are thrilled with her new 'mom', Claire C., of Fenwick, Ontario.

Lucida de FinaVistaLucy is a very pretty daughter of our herd sire, Mercenario and a Puerto Rican mare named Kitani Mimbrera. "Lucy" has grown up to be as lovely to ride as she is to be around. She posesses a gentle, loving and curious demeanour and is a soft, receptive, and very responsive riding horse that is a joy to ride. She has an elegant natural headset and loves to be ridden or paid attention to in any way. We are very pleased to see her go to a great new home with Juan A. of King, Ontario.
Mariposa "Posey""Posey" was the first Paso Fino born at Fina Vista Farm, and it's hard to believe she is all grown up and having foals of her own now. She was also the first foal for our beloved Pianola. Her birth was one of the highest attended events of the county, most likely! A quirkier character might be hard to find, or a more loveable one. She went to a devoted new owner in West Lorne, Erin E. Congratulations Posey and Erin.
MarquesaLess than a year after Tara bought the beautiful Paolo (see him farther down here) she and her partner, Marty S., were back to the farm looking for a mount for Marty. I did not have anything totally trained at the time, howwever, I did have a green-broke sweetheart of a mare who just needed more miles. I knew Marty was up to it and he and Marquesa hit it off right away. The extra bonus is that Paolo and Marquesa are now as inseparable a duo as Tara and Marty. :)
Matador de FinaVistaOur first foal from our gorgeous stallion, Destino, out of the very beautiful Finola de Herencia. It comes as no surprise to us that Matador is just jaw-dropping handsome. Matador is very fortunate to have two doting owners, Andres R. and Megan K., but still gets to live at Fina Vista Farm, where he is boarded, with his horse friends.
MateoWhen he was with us, he was Fleco de Oro, and he proved himself to be a wonderful show and trail horse, earning Emma (our junior rider extraordinaire) many, many ribbons. He is now known as Mateo by his new family , the Bonks in Erin, Ontario, where his skills as an Equine Assisted Learning horse are being developed and cherished.
MermaladaMermalada, now known as "Abby", is enjoying many, many long lovely trail rides with her awesome person, Pauline A., in Eastern Ontario. SHe is such a sweet and pretty mare and together they make a perfect team... we need a new pic with you, Pauline!
Neruda de FinaVista "Rudi" is a joy to be around and to watch grow. We expect her to be a beautiful and well-gaited mare that anyone would be proud to own or ride.
Her sire is our own Mercenario and her dam is the beautiful Rosanna Royale, daughter of Rapido del Paso (2 times Reserve Grand National Champion Classic Fino Stallion and son of the legendaryCapuchino). We look forward to seeing Neruda develop into the lovely and talented mare we're sure she shall be. An excellent addition to the developing Alberta Paso Fino herd of Jane Brydges! Neruda lives with Jane B., in Seba Beach, Alberta, where she now raises Paso Finos. NevadaThere is no doubt that "Nevada", got her unique colouring from her famous grandfather, Nevado. This filly had such a sweet and gentle nature and calm manner under saddle that we knew she would make a great "family horse". Her new owners, Anita and Aaron S. of KY, already had their perfect Pasos and were looking for one suitable for their young children. They had this to say about their purchase... " I'll have to say when you send a horse, you send a horse.... We rode her yesterday. She did very well. She would not come out of walk with the kids. So needless to say the whole family loves her."
NietaIn Spring, 2009, I had so many people contacting FinaVista for totally trained and family-friendly paso horses that were ready to hit the trails immediately, that I got in touch with Southern contacts and arranged to import a couple from Florida. Nieta was one of these horses and came to the farm as everything they promised and more. Safe, sane, friendly, sweet, well-trained and ready-to-ride. The kind of horse I would happily have on the farm forever. Needless to say, it did not take long for someone to scoop her up. Congratulations to Michele S., of Ontario, on your lovely new mare. Now with 2 pasos in the family there is twice the fun!!
Orlando de FinaVista"Orlando", is a 2003 bay gelding out of our mare, Maple Leaf's Pianola by our herd sire, Mercenario. He has beautiful conformation and movement combined with a lovely friendly and willing disposition. We are so happy to have him in such a wonderful home with a top-knotch rider and trainer. Bob told me recently how proud he was of his horse at a demo he gave at a hunt seat barn recently, "I like him a lot you know"... apparently the kids were also impressed by this three-year-old demo horse!
Orlando is the pride and joy of his owner, Robert Darling, now trainer in residence at Artworks Paso Finos in Cobden, ON. Paloma de FinaVista"Paloma de FinaVista" made quite the impression on the visitors to Fina Vista Farm. Everyone remarked on what a striking looking filly she is, a very feminine light buckskin. Her parents are our own Mercenario and Finola.
In 2010 Paloma made her way down for initial training in Kentucky. There she was spotted by another young trainer from Indiana who bought her and brought her home for his next project. We look forward to seeing what they accomplish together and wish them all the best. Congratulations to Chris H. of Indiana! Thanks for all the great updates and happy trails. PaoloPaolo is very lucky to live with his beautiful, loving people, Marty S., Tara J., and his very pretty buddy, Marquesa, in Simcoe, ON.
Tara wrote us, " "I'd like to thank you with all my heart ,Camilla. You have personally made quite a difference in our lives and we will be ever grateful. Here's to another wonderful day with our Pasos." PicabooFiddleleaf's Picaboo is a 2000 Grulla Mare by JLM's Jaranero, (World Fino Stallion Champion, PFHA 2001 Grand National Fino Champion and 2002 Grand National Champion Bella Forma Stallion) out of Fiddleleaf's Princesa, (a Fino Mare and daughter of Plebeyo from a Cosmos Mare).
We know she will be thrilled at her new home in North Carolina with Lori and Greg of Echo West Farm. 2012 Update: Picaboo has given her new owners several fantastic offspring, earning her the #2 Top PFHA Mares in 2010 and the #1 Top PFHA Mare in 2011! |
PavoneaPavonea iis a great example of why I love those wonder Plebeyo bloodines... conformation, willingness, attitude... such a treat to work with this kind of Paso. Pavonea now lives with Jane B., in Seba Beach, Alberta, where she helps Jane introduce the West to the wonders of the Paso Fino.
QuericaThis beautiful grey mare carries the noble bloodlines of such great Pasos as Profeta, Plebeyo andLunares. She was a hard one to let go and I would have to say she was the nicest horse ever to train... and I will seek out this pedigree again. Criquet has a new name, Querica, and proud new owner, Victoria P., of Damascus, Ontario and has returned to stay at Fina Vista Farm. Welcome back Querica!
Querica and Victoria have logged thousands of miles at FVF and experienced countless adventures together. Ride on ladies. Reba"Reba" is the nickname of this lovely redhead. This young mare, with Faeton LaCe and Ladrillo in her pedigree, was pure pleasure to handle and to train. She is now owned and loved by the Ellison Family in West Lorne and London, Ontario. Pictured at left with Erin. Reba is expecting a foal came to them with her colt, Diego, and then had a filly for them in 2004 by Mercenario.
Rosanna RoyaleThis lovely mare is a daughter of Rapido del Paso and has an unbelieveably smooth gait and a delightfully complex personality. "Rosalie" lives at around the corner from Fina Vista Farm, in Damascus, ON, with her owner, Ann W. Rosalie has had four beautiful foals with us, her daughters, Vida (below) and Neruda (above) can be seen here.
RositaIn 2011 we started getting visited by a family very keen to find the perfect Paso Fino for their daughter. We brought home an adorable pinto Paso mare from Georgia that fit the bill very cutely. Congratulations to Sara and Rosie (who still boards here at FVF).
Senora del NocheThis tall, elegant mare of Puerto Rican bloodlines really gives a lovely ride. "Edie", now lives happily with Cathy W., of Michigan. Cathy says: "Camilla was very helpful in the purchase of my first Paso. She is very honest and truly concerned that horse and rider match. What a wonderful experience to deal with such friendly people. I have had my Paso for a little over a year and can still call on her if I have questions".
Siete"Siete" is a hot young colt that has taken Paso fever to the great white North. Here he is in his new home with the Touzin family of New Liskeard, Ontario. Siete sired his first foal in the Spring of 2003.
SophiaSofia is a lovely young grulla mare who is daughter to Sorpresa (below). She has a gentle, sweet temperament, willing disposition and smooth, pleasure gait. Her colour is spectacular... she looks lilac in the summer. She had two gorgeous grulla foals by Mercenario for her new owner. Though there were several tears shed when it was time to say good-bye to this wonderful mare in 2006, we are very happy about and excited for her new owners. She and her in utero foal headed West to a new farm that will be raising Paso Finos in Alberta, Canada. Congratulations to Jane Brydges of Seba Beach, Alberta. If you are looking for quality Paso Finos in Western Canada, you can contact Jane at email: [email protected] or call: 780-797-5430.
SorpresaSorpresa is an eye-catching grulla mare who has done it all from showing to trail-riding to making beautiful babies. A few years back she made a young girl very happy by being a wonderful birthday present! This mare has that very special combination of smooth gait, dramatic presence, elegant frame and is as gentle as a lamb to handle and ride. Congratulations to Emily of Alliston, ON.!
StellarStellar in her new home with Pat, in Eastern Ontario.
SultanSultan lives with Jane B., in Seba Beach, Alberta, where she helps Jane introduce the West to the wonders of the Paso Fino. Amongst his other adventures, he took part in a fund-raising ride across Alberta with Jane's grandson, Marshall.
Tormenta"Tori" initally went to a very happy home with Claire C., In Fenwick, ON, to keep Libelula company. Several years later Claire realized Tori was too nice a horse to be so under-ridden, so in 2011 she was offered for sale and quickly scooped up by the lovely folks who bought Fantasma from us years ago. They are thrilled with their second Paso Fino... no doubt they will need at least one more. :) Congratulations to her new people in Buffalo, NY!
VidaVida and her friend, Jewel, were born at Fina Vista Farm, and went to live exciting new lives at Rancha Silla Roca in Eastern Ontario. Vida was the first foal for Rosanna Royale. Hopefully Ruthann and Robert will send us a picture of her and her buddy all grown up.
Viggo de FinaVistaAnother horse that we will all miss who found a great new home in 2010 was "Viggo de FinaVista". Viggo has all the funny mannerisms and quirky personality of his wonderful mother, Pianola. He is also an absolute knock-out of a horse, with size and presence and a beautiful golden coat. At age 2.5 years he made the big journey to his new home in Texas with Mary Beth W.
We are thrilled to see Viggo in such capable and experienced hands. His new family has been raising pasos for over thirty years! We are honoured that our golden boy was chosen by a family that so clearly cares for their horses and is so passionate and knowledgeable about the breed! Many Happy Trails to you both! Zarzuela de FinaVistaZarzuela Fina Vista is a beautiful 2007 dark bay filly who got new co-owners, Janet and her niece, Casey, in March, 2009. Zarzuela is a truly lovely young horse that is still boarded at at Fina Vista Farm. For more breathtaking pictures and her special Horse of the Week profile... go to the MyHorse.ca site of Janet's sister, Leslie Town, photographer extraordinaire.
2010 update: Zarzuela is now hitting the trails and showing in Performance fillies! Congratulations Janet, Casey and the lovely Zarzuela . |
